Our SCHOOLS CURRICULUM

Knowledge, education and curriculum are three words that can never be separated.

This is because; they form and play an integral part in the learning process of any human being. All over the world, human beings are in the race to acquire the best of these three important learning aspects.

And well, here in Kenya, Newlight Ziwa Schools are offering these three aspects with utmost dedication and diligence. In addition, our institution of excellence offers a holistic oriented model of learning to our students.

This model entails academic excellence, talent development and spiritual growth as envisaged in our school’s vision.

Our SCHOOLS

We acknowledge that;

  • Knowledge is the practical or theoretical understanding of a subject acquired through experience or education.
  • Education is a multi-dimensional and concept involving the systematic giving or receiving of instructions in a school, college or university.
  • Curriculum is a set of subjects taught so as to complete a certain course of study.
  • Learning is the process of being taught in order to acquire skills or knowledge.

Our curriculum follows the laid down guidelines by the ministry of education and government of Kenya.

Recently in Kenya we had a change of the curriculum from the 8-4-4 system that started in the year 1985 to 2-6-3-3-3 system referred to as CBC (Competency based curriculum).

The vision of the basic education curriculum reform is to enable every Kenyan to become an engaged, empowered, and ethical citizen.

Newlight Schools- Ziwa will ensure this is achieved by providing every learner with world class standards in the skills and knowledge that they deserve and which they need in order to thrive in the 21st Century.

This is being done through the provision of excellent teaching, good school environment, resources and sustainable visionary curriculum that provide every leaner with seamless, competency based high quality learning that values every learner.
